Terms of service

The key terms that apply when you book an IN CONFIDENCE session or service, in brief.

Professional boundaries

IN CONFIDENCE provides independent, strategic HR advisory services. Advice is practical and HR-focused. It does not constitute:

  • Legal advice or legal representation
  • Immigration advice
  • Tax, pension, investment or financial advice
  • Representation in disciplinary, grievance, tribunal or other legal proceedings

Where legal, immigration, tax or another specialist’s input is appropriate, this will be identified clearly so you can obtain the right support. Outcomes cannot be guaranteed: decisions about how to act remain yours and employers’ decisions remain theirs.

No representation

IN CONFIDENCE advises you directly. It does not act as your employment representative, communicate with your employer on your behalf or negotiate with a third party for you unless a separate service is expressly agreed in writing and is lawful and appropriate. The standard services do not include representation.

Legal deadlines

If a legal limitation period, tribunal deadline, appeal deadline or other formal time limit may apply, do not rely on IN CONFIDENCE to protect that deadline. Obtain prompt advice from a qualified employment lawyer, union representative or recognised advice service.

Booking and payment

You choose your session time and pay in full when you book. Your booking is confirmed once payment has been received. For written services, a fixed fee, scope and delivery timeline are confirmed before you pay. Anything outside the agreed scope will be quoted and agreed separately before work begins.

Rescheduling

You may reschedule a session once at no charge with at least 24 hours’ notice, using the link in your confirmation email. Later changes, or missed sessions, may be treated as used. Where we need to reschedule, we will offer the earliest alternative or a full refund.

Cancelling a session

If you cancel at least 24 hours before your session, you will receive a full refund. With less notice, or if you miss your session, it may be treated as used. This does not affect your statutory rights: if you cancel within the cancellation period described below, you will only pay for work already performed.

Cancelling a written service

If you cancel before work has started, you will receive a full refund. Once work has started, we will refund the fee less a proportionate amount for the work already done. Once your written review, pack or assessment has been delivered, the service has been provided in full.

Your cancellation rights

Where the service is purchased by a consumer online or at a distance, applicable UK consumer cancellation rights will be respected. If you ask IN CONFIDENCE to begin the service during any applicable cancellation period, you will be asked to acknowledge that work can begin before that period ends and that, where legally permitted, you may be responsible for work already performed if you later cancel.

Refunds

Refunds are handled according to these terms, applicable consumer rights and whether work has already begun. They are made to your original payment method within 14 days. If IN CONFIDENCE cannot deliver the service as agreed, you will receive an appropriate refund for the undelivered service.

Scope and additional work

A service covers only the scope stated at booking. Additional documents, additional countries, substantial new information, repeated revisions, additional meetings or work beyond the agreed scope may require a separate fee. No additional fee will be charged without prior agreement.

Client materials and work product

Written reviews, packs and assessments are prepared for your personal use based on the information you provide. They are not legal advice and are not intended for reliance by another person or organisation without written permission. You remain responsible for deciding how and whether to use the advice.

No guaranteed outcome

IN CONFIDENCE provides advice, analysis, preparation and recommendations. It cannot guarantee a particular employer decision, salary increase, promotion, settlement, contractual amendment, visa outcome, redundancy outcome or other result.

Limitation of responsibility

IN CONFIDENCE will provide services with reasonable care and skill. To the extent permitted by law, IN CONFIDENCE is not responsible for losses arising from decisions made by the client, incomplete or inaccurate information supplied by the client, actions taken by employers or third parties, or reliance on advice outside the agreed scope. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
